Major Event Information

* Robbery *

100 block of Antioch Pike.  The victim was unloading a moving truck when two male blacks approached him.  One of the suspects put a black handgun to his head and told him not to move. The other suspect took items from the victims pants pockets. The two suspects fled the scene on foot.  The suspects are in their 25-30's.  South Precinct Detectives responded to the scene.

There was a robbery in the 2700 block of Glenrose Ave a short time before this robbery took place. The suspects in that robbery  are possibly the same suspects.

 

2700 block of Glenrose Ave.  The victims said they were standing in the parking lot when a white SUV, possibly a Tahoe or Suburban, backed into a parking spot and two male blacks jumped out, brandished a black handgun and ordered all of the victims to put their hands up.  The other suspect went through the three victims pants and took items. The suspects got back into the SUV and drove off. No direction of flight was given.

 

4500 block of Nolensville Rd.  The victim said he was getting into his vehicle when a suspect put an unknown object to his back and in Spanish said, "You look at us and we'll kill you".  They ordered the victim to get into his vehicle and drove to the 4500 block of Nolensville Rd. at which time they stole his wallet, cell phone and keys before fleeing the area on foot. South Precinct Detectives responded to the scene.

 

* Aggravated Assault *

OHB and Nolensville Rd at approximately 1:20 am.  The victim said she was stopped at the intersection when a vehicle pulled up next to her and stopped. The back seat passenger shot several paintball pellets into the victim's vehicle. Due to the victims windows being down the paintball pellets struck the victim in the eyes. The victim followed the suspects for several minutes before loosing sight of the suspect vehicle on Edmondson Pk near McMurray Dr. The suspect vehicle was described as an "older Buick 4dr dark in color".  The victim was not injured.  South Precinct Detectives were notified.

Major Event Information

* Robbery *

Robbery @ I 24 W & Briley Pkwy.  The victim said he was flagged down on I 24 W at 7:30 am by a male white(suspect). The suspect approached victim and pointed a hand gun at him.  The suspect took twenty dollars from the victim.  The suspect was arrested a short time later on the Interstate.  This suspect is notorious for standing by broken down cars on and around I-24 flagging down motorists and bumming money for gas when the vehicles aren't even his.

* Burglary *

100 block of Neese Dr.  The victim left his residence around 2 pm on July 2nd and when he returned at 12:30 am on July 3rd

he found items missing from his residence. Victim stated he believes he locked the doors when he left but when he returned to find the items missing he checked the doors again and one seemed ajar.  There did not appear to be any forced entry.

 

600 block of Smith Ave.  A contracted security officer was patrolling the business when two suspects were observed walking away from the business carrying a large plastic bag which required both of them to lift. Upon seeing the security officer the suspects dropped the bag and fled on foot. Subsequent investigation revealed that the bag contained orange juice containers, ham and other food items stolen from the business.  Forced entry had been made thru the front door. One of the suspects ran out of his Nike Air Force 1's during his escape.

 

500 block of Veritas St.  The victim left his apartment just long enough to drive to the corner market.  Upon his return he observed two males standing beside his front door.  When they saw the victim  they fled on foot, westbound on Veritas St.  The front door had been forced open but no property taken.

Major Event Information

* Burglary *

600 block of Bell Rd.  South Precinct Officers responded to a commercial burglary at this location.  Upon their arrival they found a door that had been forced open.  Although no items were taken, a TV. was ripped from the wall and left dangling.  Several drawers had been opened and gone through. The I.D. Unit responded to the scene.  There is a video surveillance camera.

10's District concentrated their efforts in the Nolensville Rd. & Thompson Ln. areas due to an increase in commercial and residential burglaries.  Efforts resulted in: 2 traffic stops, 1 misdemeanor citation, 1 physical arrest, 1 warrant arrest, 1 warrant attempt, 4 Terry stops and 13 business checks.

Major Event Information

* Robbery *

Robbery in the 5400 block of Ocala Dr.  The victim met the suspect at a gas station.  The suspect followed the victim to his residence.  Shortly after arriving at the victim's residence, 2 other suspects showed up.  One suspect brandished a gun and while pointing it at the victim, demanded money.  The other suspects physically assaulted the victim before fleeing the residence.  The victim drove to another location to contact Police.  South Precinct Detectives responded to the scene to assist in the investigation which led to the arrest of the three robbery suspects.

 

* Significant Event *

At approximately 4:10 am Officers were dispatched to the 5000 block of Edmondson Pk in reference to a citizen finding a

3 year old child running down the middle of the road on Edmondson Pk.  The Fire Department also responded.  The child was unharmed.  At approximately 4:36 am the mother of the child contacted Police about her child missing.  Officers were already actively checking for the whereabouts of the mother.  The mother responded to the Officers location within minutes.  She said she had been asleep and the doors of the house were locked.  She awoke and noticed her door was open and the child was not home. She said the child had just recently learned how to unlock the door.  She advised that she would be installing additional locks and assistance to secure her child in the residence.  Notification was made to both Youth Services and DCS.

* Burglary *

Burglary in the 4500 block of Sandpiper Lane.  When the victim returned home at approximately 5:23 pm she attempted to open the garage door but it wouldn't open. She unlocked the front door and immediately noticed a rear door open.  She exited the residence and the Police were called.  A number of electronic items were missing along with a S&W 9mm silver/black handgun.

300 block of Dover Glen Dr.  Maintenance advised they received an alarm at the office around 1:42 am. When they responded to the location they found one of the windows broken out and a TV missing.  Video from a surveillance camera is available.  South Precinct Detectives notified.

 

10's block of E. Thompson Lane.  Officers responded to an alarm at a market.  Upon their arrival Officers found damage to the front door.  Video surveillance from a camera is available.  The suspect is a male black, 5'9" to 6', age 28-35, goatee, 

wearing black pants, white t-shirt and a white hat.  The suspect backed his mid 90's silver Ford Taurus with a spoiler into the front door.  It appears that the suspect stole several cases of cigarettes.  ID responded to process the scene. South Precinct Detectives notified.

Robbery in the 200 block of Crossings Place.  At approximately 9:24 pm the suspect approached the clerk at the front desk, handed the clerk a note demanding money and showing a hand gun in his waist band.  Once the suspect got some money he walked out the front door.  South Precinct Detectives and ID responded to the scene.

In the 300 block of Elberta St.  Entry was gained thru a small window.  No items were taken.  A small flashlight and a lighter were left by the suspect at the scene.  Responding Officers processed the crime scene.

Major Event Information

* Robbery *

1100 block of Murfreesboro Rd. at approximately 1:30 am.  The victim pulled into the parking lot at this location and as he was getting out of his vehicle he was approached by the suspect.  The suspect asked the victim for a lighter and the victim opened his car door as he did so the suspect pulled a black semi auto handgun from his pocket, pointed it at the victim and forced the victim back into the front passenger seat of his vehicle.  The suspect told the victim to empty his pockets and demanded money. The victim gave the suspect his walletcell phone and approximately $120 in cash.  The suspect drove off in the victim's car, after looking in the trunk.  He drove briefly drove the car before parking it near where it was taken from. While Officers were interviewing the victim, the victim pointed out the suspect as he was crossing Murfreesboro Rd.  The suspect fled but was taken into custody by Hermitage and South patrol officers.  Officers found a small baggie of marijuana and the victim's cell phone in the suspect's possession.  The victim was able to identify the suspect.  The hand gun the suspect had pointed at the victim was also recoveredThe gun had been reported stolen.  South Precinct Detectives responded to the scene along with ID.  The 17 year old suspect's charges included Aggravated Robbery and Simple Possession of a controlled substance.  There were also 2 outstanding warrants on the suspect, one for Attempted Homicide and the other for Aggravated Assault.

 

* Burglary *

2100 block of Vine Hill Rd.  The victim had been out of town and upon her return she noticed that her 20" flat screen TV was missing. There were no signs of forced entry but the rear door was unlocked. The residence did not appear out of order nor was anything out of place. The victim believes the suspect could be someone who had been in her residence for maintenance while she was out of town.

 

1500 block of Martin St.  The victim had been out of town and upon his return found that the rear door of his residence had been kicked in and entry made.  TVs, a DVD player, clothing, jewelry and food were stolen from the residence.  The reporting officer processed the crime scene.

Burglary in the 400 block of Patterson St.  The victims returned home to find tire tracks leading to their rear door.  There was visible damage to that door.  The responding officer process the crime scene. 

 

Burglary in the 400 block of Swiss Av.  The victim had been out of town for several days and returned home to find that the front door had been kicked in.  Neighbors stated they did not notice any unusual activity around the residence.  The responding officer processed the crime scene.

Robbery in the 4500 block of Packard Dr. @ 9:25 am.  Two suspects, description as followed: Suspect #1 - male black, 5'7",

180 lbs., 20-30 yr., wearing all black and carrying a small black semi-auto pistol. Suspect #2 - male black, 5'9", 170 lbs. wearing a black hat.  The victim was standing outside when he was approached by the suspects who demanded his property which included a cell phone, wallet, cash, his identification and keys to home and vehicle.  The suspects made the victim walk away before they fled the area.  South Precinct Detectives notified.

* Significant Event *

Robbery in the 2200 block of Murfreesboro Rd.  The victim was involved in an altercation in the parking lot and was shot at extremely close range in the neck/shoulder area by the male black assailant who was armed with a Remington model 870 12 GA shotgun.  Although the actual shooter was able to flee the scene before Police arrived a witness pointed out an accomplice who was observed concealing the weapon in the trunk of a car.  The victim's injuries were very serious, but due to his quick transport to and treatment at the hospital he is expected to survive.  Investigation is ongoing.

Many of the calls this shift were related to a severe thunderstorm which wreaked havoc as it passed through south Nashville around 7 pm causing widespread power outages, downed treespower lines and even localized flooding in the Trimble Bottoms neighborhood. A higher-than-normal volume of traffic accidents related to the heavy rainfall also occurred precinct wide.

Robbery in the 3700 block of Bakertown Rd.  At 7:30 pm a neighbor of the victim's called Police to advise that he had seen several unidentified suspects enter the victim's residence.  When Police arrived on the scene they found the victim in an armchair, very disoriented and bleeding from his head.  The victim said he didn't remember what happenedonly that he was struck in the head. After checking with the neighbor that called 911 Officers learned that five suspects had approached the victim's residence.  One of the suspects ran around the house, trying doors, while the other four suspects were checking the street.  The neighbor said that shortly after that two other suspects joined the first suspect checking the door then they began knocking on the door. The  door to the house opened from the inside and all five suspects, including two females, entered the residence and were there for several minutes.  When they left the residence they left in a white 1998 Ford MustangThe victim was treated at the scene for a concussion and lacerations to the head.  South Precinct Detectives responded to the scene.

 

Robbery in the 700 block of Haystack Ln.  At 9:05 pm the victim called Police saying that 5 male Hispanics robbed her at home. The victim advised that she had invited 3 of the suspects over to play video games.  She said that the front door of the apartment was unlocked and that's when the two other suspects entered the apartment, uninvited.  One of the suspects held a gun on her while the other four ransacked her home.  The victim doesn't know anything about the suspects except that they are friends with her ex-boyfriend.  South Precinct Detectives responded to the scene along with ID.

Burglary in the 700 block of Murfreesboro Rd at approximately 1:55 am.  Officers found a rear door that had been pried open.  An inventory will have to be conducted to determine items taken.  The location has video surveillance that will be helpful in identifying the suspects.  ID responded to the scene for processing.

 

Burglary in the 4300 block of Kenilwood Dr at approximately 1:08 am. Officers found the front glass window had been destroyed.  An inventory will have to be conducted to determine items taken.  ID responded to process the scene.

* Robbery *

Robbery from a business in the 60's block of E. Thompson Ln at 8:20 pm.  A store employee stated that the suspect was armed with a black semi auto pistol came into the business and asked for cookies. The suspect then placed a bag on the counter and demanded money.  The suspect fled the location after obtaining money.  He left in a tan Ford Focus with tinted windows.  The suspect is described as a male white, 5'11", 250lbs, wearing a Titans hat and brown plaid button shirt.  Aviation and South Precinct Detectives responded to the scene.

Police Partner with CrimeMapping.com to Provide Crime Activity Reports to Citizens

          Crime Alerts are one of the most popular features at CrimeMapping.com.  Citizens can register online to receive free e-mail updates whenever new crime activity occurs in a specified area.  A person can register multiple times in order to learn about criminal activity near their residence, business, workplace or even their child’s school.
